    I’m guessing it’s a reference to Nobel prize winners Hinton (now) and Simon (then).

    I am guessing this has to do Nobel Prizes going to computer scientists, instead of the field the prize is supposed to cover.

    Well, Bob Dylan got one in literature, the peace prizes are a joke, and Einstein’s physics prize wasn’t for relativity, supposedly because the Swedish physicist with a key vote was a guy whose work was in optics. I’d say economics is doing as well as any of the others, but I’m not an economist. I’m glad there isn’t one for law.
